The Cheapside address was in the centre of Taunton, a flat over the Heath and Heather shop for quality foodstuffs. Heath and Heather were the landords and sued Alexander Nimmo for structural repairs to the appartment after he left in December 1951. The repairs in question were related to rotten woodwork of the stairs leading up to the flat (and the flat above) which were much older than the tenure of Alexander Nimmo. The plaintiff lost in court, although the current legal position would have allowed them to expect a tenant to cover all repairs irrespective of the condition of the object at the start of tenure.
