Narrative
Catherine Baird was possibly married to Robert Baird, parents of Jane Baird (wife of Andrew Harvie). If this is the case then her birth name would have been Catherine Carrick. Living in Kilsyth at the time of the 1881 census at the age of 70, she was apparently surrounded by several of her family. It is interesting to note that there was one young (eldest of the family) girl also called Catherine Baird in Kilsyth who was, therefore, possibly her granddaughter, whose father James may have been her son.
